Autism support group in Minot

Just wanted everyone in the Minot area to know that our parent support group is reorganized since Jodi Vetter moved on. We changed our name from ASA-ND:Minot to MAPS-4-ASDS which is the ancronym for Minot Area Parent Support for Autism Spectrum Disorders. We have a new president, Heather Wittliff. We will be meeting the third Thursday of each month from 7:30-9:00 p.m., at the American Red Cross office on 4th Ave. NW. We will not meet in November. In December and June we will have a family social. Our first meeting will be Thur. Sept. 18 with guest speaker Dr. Derek Teets. We have a new website that is under construction but has all of the important info, check it out at www.maps-4-asds.org.

Family Voices Family Day

I am personally inviting everyone to attend Family Voices Family Day in Dickinson on Saturday, October 18th! I know it is in Dickinson and who wants to drive there, but hey we have lots of great things here! For one we are having it at our Community Center where they have a great pool! We will be going swimming afterwards. We also have a cool dinosaur museum – OK so maybe dinosaurs aren’t your thing!! So anyway, it is going to be a rockin day with lots of fun! See below for the break out session list! We have FREE Childcare set up and will have a pizza and swimming part starting at 5:30! So don’t miss it! Back to School

This is always such a sad time for me, with the kids going back to school. Especially when they are getting closer to being independent adults and passing the baton to them.
Meeting new mom’s over the weekend I wished I could go back to those earlier days, and trying to stop this train….But i know in my heart of hearts, all will be fine, it is really just a phase…tough phase but a phase

August 15-17th we hosted the first FVND Family Leadership Institute
